15 Months of Miles

Miles is growing so fast! In these pictures, he is a 15-month-old wearing clothes that are size 24 month. He's walking with support, and has taken a few steps here and there all by himself. He sleeps and naps well, and his relationship with Kent is so precious. He is our cuddle-bug and we love him.

Miles' One Year Portraits

I know, I know, I know. Miles is 14 months old. Oh well. I do what I can, when I can do it.

Miles is such a treasure and joy. He's a crawling, cuddling, giggling, playful, squawking, tender-hearted, social, smiley, affectionate treasure and joy, and we all love him dearly.  Below are his one year portraits, and they give a pretty accurate picture of his personality.

Eleven Months of Miles

Miles turns a year old next week (!!), so before that happens, here's the post about him being eleven months.

Things we love about Miles at eleven months:
-He is mobile! He can army crawl with the best of them, pull himself up into a standing position, and let himself back down.
-He LOVES sharing a room with Kent. Kent's crying, screaming, and "Daddy/Mommy, I need you for <insert ridiculous reason here>" doesn't seem to bother him. Miles just sits/stands/lies in his crib and observes the chaos around him.
-Miles can feed himself pretty much any kind of soft food. I can't wait for him to get a few more chompers in so that he can feed himself hard food too.
-He has found his voice! Kent spent a weekend with Grandpa and Grandma Cleary, and while he was gone, the silence must have been more than Miles could handle, because he started chatting up a storm and hasn't stopped since.

That's all the time I have for now, folks. Enjoy the pictures!

Kent wanted to get in on the action. Here is one of his silly faces.

Four Easters

I find it fun to look back and see how our family has changed through the years. I've made it a tradition to take a family picture on Easter (as so many other people do), and thought you may enjoy seeing the pictures as much as I do.

Nine and Ten Months of Miles

I can't tell you how guilty I feel about not posting for Miles' nine month birthday. He's sleeping better than ever, nursing less than ever...and yet I feel busier and more behind than ever. Go figure.

Anyway, the things we love about Miles at this age are:
-His one top tooth (and the three-or-so more that are working their way out)

-His babbling. Miles has a lot to say!
-His mobility. He can army crawl across the floor faster than you can say, "don't touch that!!"
-His dexterity in eating. Miles can now feed himself extra soft foods and Cheerios.

I know there's more, but if I continue writing, I run the risk of being interrupted and not finishing this post. Therefore, pictures!

10 months...and one of the only shots I got of him on his back

This picture is more representative of Miles at this age...

3 Year Old Kent

Kent turned three a few weeks ago. Can you believe it? He is an amazing boy, a delightful son, and a fantastic big brother.

His fascination for cars, trucks, and all things vehicle-related continues unabated.

His stuffed animals and certain other toys are his friends and he holds conversations with them, puts them to bed and prays with them, and I've even heard him scold them a few times.

He LOVES his little brother, and loves to make Miles laugh. He loves showing Miles things, and is willing to share toys with him occasionally.

Kent enjoys baking with Mommy in the kitchen. He likes to dump the ingredients in the bowl, take turns stirring with Mommy, and--of course--taste-testing the final product!

Wrestling on the couch is a favorite activity for Kent and Daddy. Their games have creative titles, such as "Whoops", "Tickle Daddy", and "See Daddy's Belly-Button".

Kent knows the difference between "obey" and "disobey", and when the choice is presented to him, he usually chooses to obey and avoid the consequences that disobedience brings.

Kent also knows what whining is, and usually makes an effort to stop when told to.

He is silly; he likes little inside jokes, funny-sounding words, and making funny faces.

He likes songs and, once he knows a song well enough, will sing it to himself. His current favorites are "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt", "Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho", "Old McDonald", and "Wheels on the Bus".

The list could go on and on. Basically, Kent is a joy and is TOTALLY worth all the work that's involved with parenting a three year old.
